Play Welcome to the Production! 👻 🎃 👻 ☠️ 🎃 ☠️ 🎃   Commencement of Project The production was schedueled for night of 1st February. As planned, the shoot was done and completed in the whole night and the editing was completed the next day. Filming and Lighting I filmed my movie with an Iphone 15 camera which has a 48 MP - 26 mm wide camera. Along with that we used a ring light to assist me as the scene had to be shot in the dark and it made my face clear. Also, the first shot I took, was not of the place I usually live. I captured that establishing shot some time ago when I went on a trip and that matched my film's ambience so I added it there. Most of lighting the film was lowkey to give a gloomy effect, but I also used chiaroscuro lighting at places too. Acting I was the protagonist as well...

Play Welcome to the pre-production! 👻 👻 👻 One liner An author writing a manuscript is unable to complete it due to unfavorable supernatural circumstances... However, the script isn't left unfinished - as some other entity does it for him! Name suggestions As the story was based on a horror genre, the name had to be something spooky. I thought of multiple names such as "The last words" or "Tip-toed to death". However, these seemed to be too monotonous so I decided to choose a title which would have a word that engages the audience. After much consideration, I ended up on: The unfinished manuscript This suggested the audience that a manuscript was being written which is left "Unfinished". The word "Unfinished" particularly catches the eye of everyone and I've also decided to differentiate it by using a unique font.  Screenplay S...

Play Welcome to the Preliminary process! 👻 🎃 👻 ☠️ 🎃   Preliminary 1   Experiment X: Script The Hiring Process My preliminary featured a protagonist who is mainly obeserving the scenario and having memory flashbacks, indicating that there are no dialogues. Hence, I needed an individual who could give flawless expressions, convey the emotions through the countenance, and be able to demonstrate the scenario to the viewers through body language and gestures.  For the selection, I first interviewed my family members, in which particularly my brother and my father auditioned. Even though the acting skills were on par, there was still the need of improvemment in the maturity of facial expressions that my preliminary required.  Next, I auditioned my freinds, and from among them, two of them suited particularly well for the two roles in my film. These ...

Microanalysis of technical elements

Your browser does not support the audio element. Play Welcome to the Research! 👻 🎃 👻 ☠️ 🎃 Research For my own horror film, I decided to do some research first. As I've already watched multiple movies, this time, I viewed them differently and carefully and did the microanalysis of the technical elements. The semiotics used in all of these are:   Camerawork;   Close up shots - Due to this, the camera captures the protagonist's expressions clearly while the background is easily blurred too. The blurred background proves to be a very beneficial element as the ghost or strange creature can be highlighted there.  High angle shots - This connotes  the character as terrified or under fear. Sounds;   Diegetic sounds - These sounds are used to make the scene seem more realistic. Examples may include amplification of heartbeats, footsteps or sound of breathing.  Jump scare/Beat drops -...
